Children are often prone to serious liver diseases; and hence the need for liver transplants in young children. Often, living liver donors are used for the liver transplants. Due to certain technical reasons, live donor transplants tend to frequently have portal vein stenosis. These ultrasound images of portal veins stenosis
show one such case study. Ultrasound and color Doppler are an excellent tool to determine the progress of the portal vein after transplant and to manage a stricture or narrowing of the portal vein.
